Nikocado Avocado Before and after after dropping 90 pounds, a YouTuber inspires his fans.

Nicholas Perry, better known as Nikocado Avocado to his more than 3.5 million subscribers across his numerous YouTube channels, has established a reputation in the community of extreme-eating vloggers.

Since 2016, a YouTube audience has been riveted by Perry’s devouring of full fast-food menus, frequently with the help of his pet parrot. He is a “mukbanger,” who uploads films of himself online while overeating or bingeing.

The 29-year-old gained notoriety in 2020 for his months-long dispute with other YouTubers who accused him of abusive behavior during a cooperation video, which he later refuted to Insider. At the time, the 29-year-old used to post a video almost every day. Following the accusation, Perry released a series of contentious reaction videos that alarmed viewers and the whole YouTube community.

Perry has persisted in posting outrageous films and antics, creating a significant platform around his issues.

When Perry claimed in a video from September 2021 that he had fractured three ribs while recording a video and was bedridden, it sparked further arguments with other producers who took issue with his usage of the word “disabled” in response.

As Perry has continued to publish contentious videos regarding his weight and eating habits, his health has become the main topic of controversy among his audience in the years after.

Here’s everything you need to know about the creator.

Nicholas Perry was born in Ukraine on May 19, 1992. He stated that he was adopted soon after and grew up in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

The vlogger told YouTuber Trisha Paytas that he learned about his adoption when he was young and struggled to understand his biological parents’ decision. As a result, he claims he behaved out as a child and got mental health therapies.

“I’ve been in and out of therapy since I was, like, five,” Perry admitted to his fellow mukbanger in a 2019 interview for Paytas’ podcast The Dish With Trish.

“I would just, like, always want attention,” he explained. “I wanted to be in the spotlight.”

Perry also revealed to Paytas that he had been taking antidepressants at seven. He was later diagnosed with ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder) and OCD (Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder) as an adolescent.

Nikocado Avocado Before his online fame, the YouTube star intended to pursue music.

On Paytas’ podcast, the YouTuber discussed his pre-YouTube job as a freelance violinist. Perry, who was 21 when he moved to New York, hoped to perform in the pit orchestra for a Broadway musical. While he had musical talent, he explained that making a career in a city full of brilliant and competitive musicians was challenging.

“I was just a small, little fish in a huge sea,” he explained.

Perry met his husband, Orlin Home, while living in New York.

According to a 2016 video Perry posted, the couple met in a Facebook group for vegan males.

After months of communication, the two finally met in New York when Home traveled up from Colombia for the Woodstock fruit festival.

Perry arrived for their first encounter in a tuxedo to serenade Home, but their romance evolved after they toured together in Central America, according to Home.

Perry began uploading videos on YouTube as a vegan YouTuber in 2014.

Before he became famous for swallowing full fast-food menus in videos, the YouTuber routinely shot videos on his vegan diet.

Perry explained in a 2016 video why he no longer wanted to be a vegan YouTuber, citing his shifting ideas about eating animal products and his unhappiness with the “vegan community.”

“What is it with vegans?” he wondered in the video, “I’m never’vegan enough’ [for them].”

Years later, Perry told Trisha Paytas about veganism’s impact on his health.

“I had a rotted tooth, a vitamin B-12 deficiency, and I developed hypoglycemia,” he explained on the YouTuber’s podcast. “I don’t know if it was directly related to veganism, but I’d never had it before.”

After leaving veganism behind, Perry made a name for himself in the mukbang community.

Mukbang films, which first gained popularity in South Korea in 2010, typically include a host eating a great amount of food while conversing with an audience. The term mukbang is derived from the Korean terms for “eating” and “broadcast.”

Perry was one of the first American guys to participate in the extreme-eating fad, as mukbang films were dominated by women at the time.

The YouTuber has almost 5.5 million subscribers over his four channels, Nikocado Avocado, Nikocado Avocado 2, More Nikocado, and Nikocado Avocado 3. His primary channel videos routinely reach over a million views.

Online attention was drawn to Perry’s films for other reasons besides his eating habits. Melodrama was a promise for subscribers.

Junk eating has driven me insane. The YouTuber admitted to Trisha Paytas, “I get manic episodes where like, everything feels incredibly hard for me. I’m a tornado, you know.”

Perry routinely tweets videos of himself sobbing into food plates and thumbnail photographs. Some of the titles are “nobody likes me, i’m done” and “my life is falling apart.”

Perry claimed that he has always been dramatic and likes to use his low points to gain success on YouTube.

“Well, fuck it, everyone already hates me,” he said, or “I’m already dramatic, let me just grab the camera and film it.”

He continued to recognize in the podcast that his films with intense emotional content receive the most views.

He remarked, “They like when I’m upset, they like when I’m crying, they like when I’m hyper,” and added that he purposely makes video titles that are “clickbaity.”

When a certain mukbanger accused Perry of being abusive in December 2019, the turmoil on his YouTube channel intensified.

The YouTuber worked with mukbangers Stephanie Soo and Zach Choi on a video uploaded to Perry’s channel in December 2019. The video showed the three vloggers making jokes about one another and eating many spicy noodles.

Soo released a video titled “Why I Am Scared Of Nikocado Avocado” four days after Perry shared the collaboration. She discussed feeling uneasy with Perry in the past while recording the collaboration. In addition, Soo claimed that Perry had texted her threatening messages and taken pictures of her while she was inside her house. The video had hundreds of thousands of views within a few hours and has since had over 14.5 million views.

Perry denied accusations that he was harsh in his email to Insider.

Following Soo’s accusations against Perry, the two engaged in an increasingly drawn-out back-and-forth by exchanging texts and creating videos to refute one another’s claims.

The videos have received millions of views, and Perry and Soo are being denigrated in the comments sections. You are a horrible, horrible person. According to a commenter on Perry’s page, you don’t deserve any of the success you’ve attained.

Mukbangers voiced their opinions during the flurry of Reddit and YouTube comments over the feud.

Following the argument, mukbanger Bethany Gaskin, better known to her 3.1 million subscribers as BLovesLife, uploaded an hour-long video on her channel.

She captioned the video, “Just my two cents over homemade chili,” in which she discussed her excellent experiences working with Perry and Soo but ultimately chose to support Soo.

Zach Choi, who appeared in the joint video with Perry and Soo, said in an Instagram post that he had retained legal counsel to respond to Perry’s online allegations.

For those of you waiting for a reaction to @nikocadoavocado’s persistent harassment, he responded, “I have hired an attorney, and he will be addressing these concerns moving forward

In an email to Insider, Perry disputed that any legal action was being taken against him.

The popular YouTuber kept writing about the difficulties in his marriage to Orlin on his channel.

Perry and his husband have worked together on some videos. They posted videos under the headings “Breaking Up with Orlin (on camera),” “Catching Orlin with Another Man,” and “Our Final Video Together.”

In the films, the two frequently insult one another, calling one another “fat” or engaging in physical contact.

One reader said, “Y’all, I feel like a third wheel in this toxic relationship.”

His use of a scooter to shop in a Walmart raised suspicions.

After Perry published a video of himself using a scooter to shop at Walmart, health worries about him grew.

Many people expressed their concerns regarding his health in their comments.

Perry stated that he fractured three ribs in September 2021.

Perry published a video titled “I Went to the Hospital” in September 2021. I’m afraid,” he stated, in excruciating side discomfort. He revealed that he had cracked three ribs on his left side in a follow-up video titled “My diagnosis has arrived” and that he was receiving steroids and other treatments. In an email to Insider, Perry claimed that he fractured his ribs due to months of “excessive, forceful coughing.”

Perry uploaded six mukbang films showing himself eating in bed for the following week, each titled “My New Diet As a Disabled Person.”

Perry claimed that in April 2022, he went to the hospital once more, raising new health concerns.

In a mukbang video he made on April 4 titled “I might have cancer,” Perry discussed experiencing pain near his testicles. People who left comments on the video advised Perry to stop recording mukbangs.

On April 6, Perry posted a new video to his YouTube channel titled “I’m at the hospital,” in which he explained that he was going to the hospital to see a doctor about the pain and mentioned having blurry vision and lower abdominal pain.

Perry claimed toward the end of the video that the physicians could not provide him with definitive answers regarding what was causing the discomfort and determined they needed to do additional testing.

After six years of marriage, many people think the pair is no longer together.

The duo had broken up, according to a message posted on Instagram on July 6 by an account that appeared to belong to Home. The account is listed as “Orlin’s official account” and “Single” in the bio, but Instagram has not confirmed that it belongs to Home.

Although my darling spouse and I have been married for six years, we have made the tough decision to separate, according to the message on the account.

Additionally, it stated that Home would no longer appear in Perry’s mukbang videos.

On July 12, Perry announced in a follow-up Instagram post on the same account that she is taking a sabbatical from social media to deal with “personal issues.”

Since late May, neither Home nor Perry has appeared in a Mukbang video on their respective YouTube channels. Perry hasn’t uploaded a video on YouTube or TikTok since late June, despite normally publishing weekly mukbang videos.

Fans have continued to wonder whether the couple is truly split up and whether this could be a long-term breakup in the comments area of the couple’s YouTube postings.
